 MISSION

County government has a five-fold mission:

  1. To warn of impending danger;

  2. When required, support local response agencies with timely, effective deployment of resources;
  3. Through the public information process, keep affected residents informed about the situation and how they can protect themselves;
  4. Coordinate and direct restoration and recovery operations when local government resources are exhausted; and
  5. Assess local needs and coordinate support from the State of South Carolina and the federal government as necessary and appropriate.

Spartanburg County will provide for: the protection, in the county in order to; minimize damage, injury, and loss of life resulting from any type disaster; provide for the continuity of government; and provide for damage assessment and survey of damage, private and public, resulting from such emergency.

 

FIRST CALL - EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION

The Spartanburg County Office of Emergency Services has entered into a multi-year contract with First Call Interactive Network.  Spartanburg County now has the ability to call everyone in the County (who has a hard-line phone - published, non-published, and unlisted number) and warn them about impeding dangers or events that have already occurred. However, if a cell phone or a Voice-Over-IP (i.e. Vonage, Charter, etc) provider is your primary phone service, we strongly encourage you to register your information through our Notification Provider, First Call Interactive Network.
