Vaccination Update:

We wanted to take a moment to update everyone on the COVID19 vaccination efforts as we know them.  Obviously, a lot has transpired since our last daily Situation Report so we wanted to provide an update on what we know and what we are doing to assist during this unprecedented time.

  • COVID Vaccination/Registration of the 70+ population began on 1/13/2021.  Vaccination locations can be found here: https://scdhec.gov/vaxlocator

  • Ingles Pharmacies in Spartanburg County are registering and vaccinating those in the 70+ population.  To lean more, visit here: https://www.ingles-markets.com/pharmacy/pg1/pharmacy-sub/vaccinations

  • Spartanburg Regional opened their public vaccination registration portal on 1/15/2021 at the following link: https://www.spartanburgregional.com/Vaccine

  • Anyone 70+ who cannot register online is asked to call DHEC at 1-855-472-3432

  • Emergency Management is serving as the conduit between Spartanburg Regional and the Spartanburg County First Response Community.  We are pre-registering responders for vaccination and submitting data collected on our submission form to Spartanburg Regional, 3x per week.  As of today at 9am, 338 responders (excluding EMS) have requested the COVID19 vaccine.

  • Emergency Management’s CERT program is assisting the Opportunity Center almost daily now with the Cold Weather shelter in addition to providing water, masks, cots, and food for this endeavor.  This initiative began due to new COVID19 capacity restrictions placed on Miracle Hill

  • In the next few weeks we will engage in an IPA /Cleaning Supply give away at our local warehouse partner location.  For those who received COVID supplies from us this past Spring/Summer, be on the lookout for that email.  Though we are not actively engaged in PPE give away with supply catching up with demand, should someone get in a bind let us know and we will do what we can to assist.

  • Emergency Management is working with LLR, USC-Upstate and VCOM as we are in the early stages of seeing when, where, and in what capacity students can assist the medical community in the Upstate

  • Emergency Management met via Zoom with numerous stakeholders to discuss the expansion of COVID19 medical response via community partnerships

  • eginning next week, Spartanburg Regional will add a USC-Upstate location as a vaccination location.  Some who were scheduled for their 2nd shot might have already received their rescheduling email due to the addition of USC-Upstate
